MICHELLE HANNA, DVM
Dr. Hanna’s passion for animals began at an early age in a home filled with a variety of pets, including turtles, lizards, parrots, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and gerbils. At the age of five, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian, and by 13, she was volunteering at local animal hospitals. She earned her degree from Iowa State University, where she was honored with the Gentle Doctor Award for the Class of 1993. Dr. Hanna became part of The Pet Clinic team in 1998, and in 2015, she and her husband, Mike, purchased the clinic.
Together they have three grown children: Adam and his wife Grace; Will, a veterinarian in Heaven; and Kelsey, who is currently a veterinary student in the UNL/ISU PPVM program. Their four-legged family members, all rescues, include dogs Yogi and Walter and cats Purell, Bug, Esme and Wink.
Dr. Hanna particularly enjoys tackling challenging internal medicine cases, continuing education, and animal behavior. Her professional affiliations include:

BARBARA TETER, DVM
Dr. Barbara Teter, a graduate of Michigan State University’s veterinary school in 1977, has always had a passion for both medicine and animals. This led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, and in 1982, she co-founded The Pet Clinic with Dr. Carol Curry. Dr. Teter enjoys all aspects of general veterinary medicine and surgery, bringing years of expertise to our clinic.
Originally from Lincoln, Dr. Teter has lived in various cities across the Midwest. Outside of work, she stays active with whitewater kayaking, biking, and tennis. She’s also a dedicated musician, performing with the Nebraska Wind Symphony and the Black Woods Clarinet Choir, as she loves creating beautiful music with others. At home, Dr. Teter shares her life with two playful cats, Julius and Libby.

GLENNA RASMUSSEN, DVM
Dr. Glenna Rasmussen has been a valued associate veterinarian at The Pet Clinic since 1994. She earned her undergraduate degree from Dana College before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 1981. After practicing in California for ten years, she returned to the Midwest to continue her veterinary career.
Dr. Rasmussen is passionate about feline medicine and surgery and is well known for her expertise in caring for pocket pets, earning a reputation for her compassionate and skilled approach to these small but mighty animals. She is also an active member of American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine. With a special passion for feline medicine, Dr. Rasmussen enjoys spending her free time with her cats, traveling, gardening and cooking.

JENNIFER OSTERHOLM, DVM
Dr. Jennifer Osterholm joined The Pet Clinic in 2000 as an associate veterinarian. She earned her veterinary degree from Kansas State University in 1996. After spending eight years in school and five years practicing in Lawrence, Kansas, Dr. Osterholm made her way back to Omaha. During her time in Kansas, she also served two years as president of the board of directors for the Lawrence Kansas Humane Society.
Her journey into veterinary medicine was a later-in-life decision, as she originally pursued a career as a physician before discovering her true passion for caring for animals. With a compassionate approach and gentle touch, Dr. Osterholm excels in working with timid animals, building trust and ensuring their comfort, while also maintaining excellent communication with pet owners to provide the best possible care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son, working in the yard, crafting or unwinding with a good book. Her furry family includes two cats, Teddie and Jilly, Golden Retriever, Raini and Sprocker Spaniel, Perri.

BRITTANY BUETE, DVM
Dr. Brittany Buete joined The Pet Clinic team in 2023, making the move from corporate to private small animal practice after seeking a career change. Originally from south Florida, she graduated from Florida Atlantic University (Go Owls!) with a degree in Biological Science before attending Lincoln Memorial University in east Tennessee for veterinary school. It was during this time that Dr. Buete discovered her passion for small animal general practice. Her teammates love her sense of humor and her clients appreciate her ability to educate them while partnering in caring for their pets.
While in school, she met her now-husband, and together they have two energetic young boys who keep them on their toes! In her rare moments of free time, Dr. Buete enjoys finding adventures for the family and relaxing at home with Maggie May (dog) and Abby (cat).

TIMOTHY HOTALING, DVM
Dr. Tim Hotaling was born and raised in LaVista, NE. He joined our team with a strong educational background and a passion for veterinary medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2008 before completing his Master of Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in 2015. Dr. Hotaling then earned his DVM degree in 2017 through the UNL/ISU Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine. He has a special interest in exotic animal medicine. In addition to dogs and cats, he specializes in numerous small mammal species such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, mice/rats, hedgehogs, ferrets, as well as reptiles and amphibians. Dr. Hotaling is our go-to veterinarian for caring for these unique pets. He also has a strong interest in veterinary dentistry.
At home, Dr. Hotaling is happily married with a daughter and son. He also shares his life with Athena, whom he rescued as an injured kitten during his first few months at The Pet Clinic (we knew then he was one of us!). His family is rounded out by Penelope, a cheerful Pembroke Welsh Corgi. When not at The Pet Clinic, Dr. Hotaling enjoys spending time with his family, playing board games, building with Legos, reading, and earning his black belt in taekwondo. Dr. Hotaling’s gentle, soft-spoken personality is a gift to his team and his patients.

MIKE SKIDMORE, DVM
Dr. Mike Skidmore is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant who spent 20 years serving our country before following his dream of becoming a veterinarian. He earned his veterinary degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln/Iowa State University Professional Program in 2021, with the unwavering support of his wife of 24 years and their two children.
An adventure seeker at work and in his free time, Dr. Mike loves a good challenge. He has a special passion for surgery, where he thrives on the opportunity to make a direct, lasting impact on his patients’ well-being. Before joining us, he worked in emergency medicine and is now excited to develop long-lasting relationships with his patients and their families.
At home, Dr. Mike shares his life with four dogs—Leia (Alaskan Malamute), Kevin (Golden Retriever), Lyla (Klee kai), and Bunny (Aussie)—and two cats, Rey and Darling. When he’s not in the clinic helping pets heal, you’ll find him working on his house and garden, relaxing with a video game or checking things like scuba diving with sharks off of his bucket list. His dedication to his family and patients, both human and furry, is truly at the heart of everything he does.
