Why Choose The Pet Clinic for Your Pet’s Veterinary Care
Your pet is family, and you deserve a veterinary hospital that treats them that way. The Pet Clinic is an independent, AAHA-accredited animal hospital that has served Omaha, NE since 1982. Our experienced veterinarians and caring support team combine advanced medicine with gentle, low-stress handling so every visit is as calm and comfortable as possible for your dog, cat or exotic pet.
What Sets The Pet Clinic Apart
Pet owners across Omaha, NE have trusted our hospital for more than four decades. Here is why so many families choose us, and why many have stayed with us for 30 years or more.
Independent and Family-Owned Since 1982
The Pet Clinic was founded in 1982 by Dr. Barbara Teter and Dr. Carol Curry. In 2015, the practice passed to long-time associate veterinarian Dr. Michelle Hanna and her husband Mike, keeping the hospital independent and in the family. That means decisions about your pet’s care are made by veterinarians who know you, not by a corporate office. Learn more about our history and meet our doctors.
AAHA-Accredited Standards of Care
Only a small percentage of animal hospitals in the U.S. and Canada earn accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association. Our hospital is evaluated on roughly 900 standards covering everything from anesthesia and surgery to pain management and cleanliness. Read more about our AAHA accreditation.
A Truly Low-Stress Experience
Fear and anxiety can make vet visits hard on pets and people alike. Our entire team is trained in low stress handling techniques. We offer separate dog and cat waiting areas, a private back entrance, warm fleece blankets, treats, and calming pheromone products throughout the building. Ceva Animal Health has even recognized our clinic for the way we use Feliway and Adaptil to keep patients calm. See how we approach every visit on our Patient Care page.
Advanced Diagnostics Under One Roof
When your pet is sick, waiting for answers is stressful. Our in-house laboratory and pharmacy, digital X-rays, ultrasound and endoscopy allow our veterinarians to diagnose many problems the same day and start treatment sooner.
Modern Surgery and Pain Management
We use laser surgery for many soft tissue procedures, which means less bleeding, less pain and lower infection risk. Our team monitors every patient closely and treats pain proactively, and we offer laser therapy to support healing after surgery and for chronic conditions like arthritis.
Care for Exotic and Small Pets
Not every hospital sees ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or reptiles. We do. Our ferret, pocket pet and reptile care includes species-appropriate housing in our hospital, including a dedicated reptile ward with its own temperature and humidity control.
Compassion at Every Stage of Life
From puppy and kitten wellness exams and vaccines to senior care and gentle end of life support, we are here for your pet’s entire life. Our clients tell us the difference is in how we treat them and their pets. Read what they have to say on our testimonials page.
