MICHELLE HANNA D.V.M., Owner

Dr. Hanna’s love for animals started early in a home full of a variety of pets including turtles, lizards, parrots, dogs, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils. She decided she wanted to be a vet when she was 5 yrs old and began working in clinics by the time she was 13. She attained her degree from Iowa State University where she was honored with the Gentle Doctor award for the class of 1993. She joined The Pet Clinic family in 1998 and she and her husband purchased the clinic in 2015. Her professional affiliations include the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine where she held an officer position, The Humane Society of the United States, Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Veterinarians for Animals Rights, The American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Mike and Michelle have 3 grown children: Adam and his bride, Grace; Will, heaven’s vet and Kelsey, who will be starting vet school Fall, 2024. Their four-legged family of rescues continues to grow with Yogi (mutt, HUA) Duke (rescued as a senior from NHS) and 3 cats.

Dr. Hanna especially enjoys challenging internal medicine cases, preventative medicine and behavior.


BARBARA TETER D.V.M.

Dr. Barbara Teter graduated from the veterinary medical school at Michigan State University in 1977. She is a member of American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Dr. Teter is interested in all aspects of general veterinary medicine and surgery. Her decision to become a veterinarian was based off her interest in medicine and love of animals. In 1982, she joined with Dr. Carol Curry to become one of the original founders of The Pet Clinic. She was born in Lincoln, and moved to multiple cities throughout the Midwest. Outside of The Pet Clinic, Dr. Teter is passionate about whitewater kayaking, biking and playing tennis. She also participates in the Nebraska Wind Symphony and the Black Woods clarinet choir due to her love of creating beautiful music with others. At home, Dr. Teter has two three year old cats, Julius and Libby.


GLENNA RASMUSSEN D.V.M.

Dr. Rasmussen is an associate veterinarian and has been at The Pet Clinic since 1994. After earning an undergraduate degree from Dana College, she received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University in 1981. She practiced medicine in California for ten years prior to returning to the Midwest. Dr. Rasmussen is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in feline medicine and when not at work, enjoys her cats, traveling, gardening, cooking, and reading.


JENNIFER OSTERHOLM D.V.M.

Dr. Osterholm is an associate veterinarian who came to The Pet Clinic in 2000. Dr. Osterholm is also our Client Service Manager. She graduated from the veterinary medical school at Kansas State University in 1996. After attending school for 8 years and then practicing in Lawrence, Kansas for 5 years, she moved back home to Omaha. While working in Kansas, she served two years as president of the board of directors of the Lawrence Kansas Humane Society. Dr. Osterholm is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Osterholm has always had a huge amount of love and respect for animals, but it wasn’t until later in life that she decided to switch tracks from studying to be a physician to veterinary medicine. She shares her life with her 8 year old son, and when she’s not busy caring for him or animals at work, she loves working in the yard, helping out with Scouts, volunteering for school activities or relaxing with a good book. Her furry family includes two young cats, Teddie and Jilly.


DR. BRITTANY BUETE, DVM

Dr. Brittany Buete joined The Pet Clinic team in 2023 after wanting a career change to a private small animal practice. She was born and raised in south Florida, where she graduated from Florida Atlantic University (Go Owls!) with a degree in Biological Science. She then attended Lincoln Memorial University in east Tennessee for veterinary school. This is where she solidified her love for small animal general practice and working closely with clients to create the best plans for their pets. While in school she met her now husband, and they have two young boys that keep them on their toes! Scarce free time is spent finding adventures for the boys, and maybe even lounging at home with Maggie May and Abby (cat and dog).

DR. MIKE SKIDMORE, DVM

Dr. Mike is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant that decided to become a veterinarian when he grew up. He earned his degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln/Iowa State University Professional Program in 2021 with the support of his wife of 24 years and two children. Furry family members include 4 dogs (Kya, Kevin, Mya and Bunny) and 2 cats (Rey and Darling). He has a special interest in Surgery and spends his free time working on his house, garden and playing video games.


MIKE | Practice Director, Owner

From college to currencies to canines, cats and critters! Mike graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University with a double major in Marketing and Finance. From there he entered the world of foreign currencies helping companies with their international payment needs. During that time, he led sales teams for Eide & Eide, Travelex, CurrencyLogix, and American Express. After 20 plus years in currencies, he made the move to canines, cats, and critters! At the end of 2015, Dr. Hanna and Mike became the owners of The Pet Clinic. They are thrilled to continue The Pet Clinic legacy that Dr. Curry and Dr. Teter established by providing top notch veterinary medical care coupled with an unusually high level of client service.


TAMMY | L.V.T. & Office Manager

Tammy is our office manager who has been with the Pet Clinic since 1983. While she is our office manager, she also is a licensed veterinary technician. She went to school at the University of Minnesota and completed an externship in England at the London Zoo. Tammy has also worked at The Henry Doorly Zoo, where she worked as a hospital/nursery keeper. She is very involved in her church at the campground for which she is worship leader and treasurer. She enjoys having a garden, loves doing crafts, as well as remodeling her home and campground property. Camping is a major passion for her and she has many camping buddies of all ages. She’s looking forward to taking the RV on some trips to warmer climates during the winter while working remotely for the clinic! Tammy is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, the Nebraska Veterinary Technicians Association and completed the course of study in dietary management through Hill's Pet Products earning her title of small animal dietician. She loves Siberian huskies, squirrels, wolves, eagles, and snow leopards.

CARL | Licensed Veterinary Technician, Lead Trainer

Carl decided to become a licensed veterinary technician after working in the motorcycle industry for quite some time. He started off as a kennel and veterinary assistant, until graduating from Vatterott College in 2007. Carl is also the lead trainer for the front end of The Pet Clinic, where he helps train and coach all licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants on working with clients and patients in exam rooms, as well as filling prescriptions in the pharmacy. His long term goal is to achieve certification in dog training and behavior. Carl is currently a member of The Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians. He loves helping people better understand their dog and give them current and positive techniques to modify their dogs' behavior due to noise phobias, fear, anxiety, separation anxiety, aggression towards humans or other dogs, sensitivities to handling and or nail trims. Growing up, he had many types of animals, dogs, ducks, parakeets, hamsters, lizards, you name it! Carl has three wonderful children, and a beautiful wife of 10 years, as well as a 7 year old smooth coated collie named Daisy. His free time is spent with his family, fly fishing, hiking, camping, working on classic cars or his archery skills.


RIVA | Licensed Veterinary Technician

Riva is originally from a small town near Norfolk, where she helped out on the farm working with hogs. When she was a teenager, she was in 4H, and did obedience training and shows with her farm dog. She decided to go to college for graphic design, but in the end, animals won her heart over and she decided to go to school to obtain her degree in Veterinary Technology. Riva is the lead trainer of surgery, treatment, and the laboratory, where she trains and coaches all licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. She met her husband, Jason, when she was a senior in high school, and they have two daughters together, Hayden and Skyler. Riva also a guinea pig named Dandelion, and two dogs, Ellie and Severus. 


AMANDA | Licensed Veterinary Technician

Amanda is a licensed veterinary technician, born and raised in Omaha. After graduating from the University of NE at Kearney, she decided to become a vet tech and went on to attend Northeast Community College. In 2006, she started working at The Pet Clinic. She lives with her mixed terrier, Autumn, and 3 cats: Ronan, Klaus, and Freya. At the clinic she’s known as Gunner's mom, and he tends to act up when she’s not there.

Michelle D. graduated from Vatterott College with a degree in veterinary technology. She was in her first semester of a four year program when she realized she could help care for animals and their people. For her, it’s the best of both worlds. Michelle describes herself as an Air Force Brat who’s lived on three continents. Her father retired from the Air Force in Nebraska, where she met her husband, James. Michelle’s passions include her family and church. She’s a mother of three beautiful girls. At church, she runs the Audio/Visual Ministry, and is also involved in Bible Buddies, a Wednesday night children’s ministry. She has a four year old Australian Shepherd/Sheltie mix named Patrick, and a two year old three-legged guinea pig named Leo.


CARLY | Licensed Veterinary Technician, Inventory Manager

Carly is a licensed veterinary technician originally from North Bend, Nebraska. She graduated from Northeast Community College in 2012, and moved to Omaha to become part of The Pet Clinic family. Since moving to Omaha, she’s found her husband, and they have two children together. She decided to become a technician due to her desire to help animals. Carly has always said she can’t imagine doing anything else with her life! She loves bike rides, bowling, spending time with her family and friends, and also loves to travel. . Carly has three cats, Nova, Luna, and Draco, as well as two guinea pigs, Wash and Pip, and numerous fish!

KELSEY | Veterinary Assistant

Kelsey is a veterinary assistant who is a true animal lover. She is a senior in high school. Her time with her large family of little critters at home and her work at The Pet Clinic have inspired her to also follow in her mom, Dr. Hanna's footsteps and pursue veterinary medicine. She will start Pre-Vet in the Fall. When Kelsey isn't sleeping with her big dog or saving power cords from demolition by her chinchilla, she likes to sing and act.

BEV | Client Service Coordinator

Bev is a client service coordinator at the Pet Clinic. Originally, she’s from Tecumseh, NE and moved to Omaha for a job with Wheeler’s Farm Store. Bev comes from an extensive background in customer service and knew that working with animals and using her skill set would be the perfect job for her. In her spare time, Bev loves to read, crochet, bake and spend time with family and friends. She and her husband just celebrated their 25th anniversary, and together, they have three children, along with a grandson. Soon they’ll be expecting their first granddaughter. Bev has two granddogs, “Zoey” and “Buddy.


CHRISTY | Client Service Coordinator

Christy joined The Pet Clinic after being a long time client. Besides spending time with the two legged members of her family, she loves being with her horses, cats, sheep, but most of all, her border collies. Herding is her passion with agility training a close second.

Kim joined The Pet Clinic family in 2017. She was actively recruited here by her sister, Dr. Jennifer Osterholm. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, but has lived in seven states before returning to Nebraska. She has three extremely active black kittens, Doc, Magoo and Frankie. Kim loves watching them race around the house and play constantly. Kim also loves Halloween, hence her three black cats!! She is an avid dart player, and enjoys a good margarita!


ROSS | Client Service Coordinator, IT Support

Ross is originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska with his family when he was young. He joined The Pet Clinic family in 2015, shortly after moving to Omaha with his wife. Ross has a strong interest in felines, and has three of his own, Adrian, Daniel, and Paul. He also has three dogs, Baudelaire, Abel, and Porterhouse. Outside of work, Ross enjoys snuggling up with his dogs to watch movies, doing home renovation projects with his wife, spending time around the firepit, and learning new recipes.
